Material and Sound Relationship Unit

This interactive setup aims to allow visitors to explore how different materials transmit and absorb sound waves through hands-on experimentation. By adjusting the frequency and volume of the sound, users can compare the effects of different materials on sound and discover their acoustic properties.

Glass Panels

Different materials are placed between two glass panels to observe how sound passes through them. Materials can be easily replaced for comparison.

Frekans ve Ses Seviyesi Kontrolleri

The controls allow users to adjust sound frequency and volume, making it easy to explore how different sounds interact with materials.

Chladni Plate Unit

This interactive Chladni setup aims to teach the relationship between frequency and vibration patterns through a gamified experience. Users try to recreate the pattern shown on the reference plate on their own plate; as they approach the correct frequency, they earn points and explore resonance and sound waves.

Control Panel

The surrounding tray collects sand displaced during vibration, keeping the area clean and allowing the sand to be reused.

The rotary encoder precisely adjusts the vibration frequency. The screen displays the current frequency, target frequency, and final score.

Monochord Unit

This interactive monochord setup provides visitors with an educational experience for exploring the fundamental principles of sound production and vibration. Users control the mechanical system to alter the vibration of the strings; by listening to the resulting sounds, learning about notes, harmony, and resonance.

Visitors manually control the mechanical system by turning the cranks. This allows them to observe the relationship between movement, force transmission, and sound production.

Hand Cranks

Movable Bridge

The bridge, operated by a rotary mechanism, changes the vibration characteristics of the strings to produce different sounds and harmonies. This allows users to experience the effect of mechanical movement on sound.

Project III

Short animation using a previous running gag between the group members to form some sort of a “absurdist” comedy/drama film. The models and scenes were created by the team members themselves.
